Creative Homesteading: Salves and Balms

The power of medicinal herbs and flowers can be harnassed in a variety of ways. Farmer Zach will take us through the steps of creating oil infusions and extractions with healing herbs from the Wyckoff Garden, including calendula, mint and comfery. We will use these oils to make salves and balms that can be applied to help protect and heal skin during the winter months.

This workshop is perfect for first time herbalists, also builds on skills from our Herbal Insect Repellent Workshop.

Ages 13 & up.

This workshop is a free demonstration. Kits are available for purchase if you’d like to take home your own set of skin products. Kits are $10 each. We like to make sure our programming is accessible to everyone so we are offering a discounted base rate of $5 per kit if you pre-reserve.
