Volunteers
Community Stewards; Volunteering in the Garden
Get your hands in the dirt and come out to help every Friday from 12pm-5pm and *most* Saturdays from 12pm-4pm during the growing season (April 15-November 15).
What will we be working on?
Every Friday from 12-2 we process food scraps and tend to the compost bin system. Composting is an essential component of this urban Farm. Then, every Friday from 2-5 we work on weeding, watering, harvesting, and other general maintenance, specific tasks change throughout the season.
To get the best idea of what to expect on a given day you can join the mailing list for our weekly volunteer newsletter. Send us an email at garden@wyckoffmuseum.org letting us know you would like to receive the newsletter and that you are interested in volunteering. The weekly newsletter contains up to date information about volunteering and other farm/garden related events throughout the season.
Please wear sturdy shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. We will provide bug spray, sunscreen, and some refreshments.
Email garden@wyckoffmuseum.org for more info and to let us know in advance that you are coming to volunteer
If you would prefer to volunteer with us more regularly, at an alternate time, or for any group volunteer requests please email garden@wyckoffmuseum.org. Please note that we require an administrative fee for organized groups of volunteers outside of our regular hours.
