DESCRIPTION:Calling all green thumbs\, get your hands dirty at our monthly drop-in volunteer days!Stop by the Wyckoff Urban Farm on the third Saturday of the month to learn about what we’re growing\, get to know our farmers\, and get your hands dirty with farm projects! Drop by anytime between 12-3PM to volunteer alongside our farm staff to care for our space and participate in special work projects. Tickets are not required to attend\, but it’s always helpful to RSVP so we can plan projects accordingly. THINGS TO KNOW: This is an all ages event. We welcome individuals and families but children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their stay. Check out what’s happening during Farmhouse Family Day while you’re here!Dress for the mess! Make sure to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy in and wear close toed shoes to protect your feet.Come Prepared: We will provide all the tools and protective gear for your projects but coming prepared with a hat\, long sleeved shirt\, sunscreen\, and bug spray is always a good idea. Facilities: Water fountain and public restrooms are available on-site. We recommend bringing snacks and a refillable water bottle.Weather: Community Work Days are rain or shine. If extreme weather is expected\, we will update this page and contact those on the RSVP list to cancel.Volunteer Groups: This event is intended for individuals\, families\, and small groups of 5 or fewer participants. DESCRIPTION:Join us where art meets science and create your own colorful dyed fabric with materials from around the farm!\n\n\nJoin us for our morning activities starting at 11:30AM where we will be learning about the difference between dirt\, soil\, and compost as well as doing some mud painting. Stick around for our afternoon session at 1PM led by guest artist Iviva Olenick where in addition to the earlier activities\, we will do flower pressing and painting with natural dyes! \nPrepare for your visit: \n\nFarmhouse Family Day is from 11AM-3PM with the craft activity beginning at 11:30AM for ages 4-7 and 1PM for ages 8-12. DESCRIPTION:Haitian Vodou Song & Dance Celebration with Fanmi Asòtò\n\n\nMache Bòde  is about connecting together as a community. It reminds us that we cannot move through life alone\, but that we rely on one another to uplift our shared humanity\, to love and support one another.  \nFor this year’s festival we will embody this unity by asking everyone to come dressed in white. We will sit all together to talk and eat Tyaka* in community. \n \nWELCOME\, HISTORY\, TALKS \n5 – 6 PM \nWelcome\, Guided Talk\, Drum Demonstrations\, Craft Activities \nTalk with Mackenson and Marcus about how Haiti’s fight for Independnce can inspire us to care for one another today. Talks will be in Kryol with live English translation. \n \nSEREMONI/ CEREMONY \n6:30 – 8 PM \nPresentation by Fanmi Asòtò. Gathering and ceremony around the sacred drum. Shared food and drink\, followed by fireside vigil with song and drums.  \n*Tyaka (Haitian stew with bean\, pumpkin\, corn\, and meat) \n \nFestival Minokan is free to participate and all ages are welcome. Donations Welcome.

DESCRIPTION:Calling all green thumbs\, get your hands dirty at our monthly drop-in volunteer days!\n\n\nStop by the Wyckoff Urban Farm on the third Saturday of the month to learn about what we’re growing\, get to know our farmers\, and get your hands dirty with farm projects! \nDrop by anytime between 12-3PM to volunteer alongside our farm staff to care for our space and participate in special work projects. \nTickets are not required to attend\, but it’s always helpful to RSVP so we can plan projects accordingly. \nTHINGS TO KNOW: \n\nThis is an all ages event. We welcome individuals and families but children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their stay. Check out what’s happening during Farmhouse Family Day while you’re here!\nDress for the mess! Make sure to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy in and wear close toed shoes to protect your feet.\nCome Prepared: We will provide all the tools and protective gear for your projects but coming prepared with a hat\, long sleeved shirt\, sunscreen\, and bug spray is always a good idea. \nFacilities: Water fountain and public restrooms are available on-site. We recommend bringing snacks and a refillable water bottle.\nWeather: Community Work Days are rain or shine. If extreme weather is expected\, we will update this page and contact those on the RSVP list to cancel.\nVolunteer Groups: This event is intended for individuals\, families\, and small groups of 5 or fewer participants. Community organizations and corporate volunteer groups are welcome to make advance reservations by emailing info@wyckoffmuseum.org to discuss scheduling options and availability.

DESCRIPTION:Join us as we learn about Bugs that creep\, crawl\, zip and fly\, are crucial to making our farm and world healthy and green !\n\n\nWe’re back! Come hangout with us Saturday\, July 19th as we explore some of the amazing insects that call the Wyckoff farm home! Create different bug-themed crafts\, meet some of the worms that help with our compositing\, go on a scavenger hunt to find rollie pollies and more! \n \n \nPrepare for your visit: \n\nFarmhouse Family Day is from 11AM-3PM with the craft activity beginning at 11:30AM for ages 4-7 and 1PM for ages 8-12\n\n \n\nTours of the Wyckoff House will be available starting at 12PM.\n\n \n\nDress appropriately for the weather as Family Day takes place indoors and outdoors – make sure to wear closed toed shoes if you plan on participating in any farm activities.
