Wyckoff Farm Earth Day Service Day
April 22, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeCalling all volunteers!
Join the Wyckoff House Museum for a special Earth Day Farm Volunteering Day! Volunteering will take place in two shifts: 12-2PM – Processing food scraps and compost & 2-4PM – General spring garden clean up.
We will provide tools, hand sanitizer, and masks for those who need them. Upon arrival we will review important tool safety information. We recommend that volunteers dress with layers in clothing suitable for outdoor work, durable boots or sneakers, bring a refillable water bottle, and snacks.
Schedule:
- 12-2PM – Processing food scraps and compost
- 2-4PM – General spring garden clean up
Planning your visit:
- Prepare to get dirty! Dress for the mess by wearing proper outdoor work attire (hat, warm layers, rain gear, gardening gloves, closed-toed shoes, etc.).
- Bring a water bottle. We will have a water refilling station available.
- Bring snacks/lunch with you (there are limited food options in the area).
- Tasks are often physically strenuous, and can include weeding, mulching, turning compost, or harvesting, depending on the needs of the farm that day.
- We welcome volunteers ages 13 & older.
- Bicycle rack available on-site.
HEALTH & SAFETY:
- We recommend that all visitors (over the age of 2 years) adhere to mask wearing and social distancing requirements while visiting the museum. Following these protocols will also help protect those who are unvaccinated, including families who visit with young children.
- Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the park and event. We will have extra masks if you do not bring your own.
- We recommend using the restroom before your arrival. There is one port-o-san on the property.
