About the Artist:

Yasmin Gur, is an Israeli sculptor with 25+ years of experience, building sculpture, teaching, and directing art programs focusing on sculpture, design and media. Using reclaimed wood as a basis, she appropriates the history of salvaged materials to create structures that evoke the living processes of an organism. Her work, biomorphic yet geometric abstract forms in wood, metal, and other materials, embodies sensuality, ambiguity, and ambivalence. Ms. Gur earned her MFA from Brooklyn College, NY and received her BFA from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, Israel. She is the founder of Art Biz Fusion connecting business with artists, and is the Sculptors Alliance Director of Education. For more info visit http://www.yasmingur.com

This workshop series is part of the Protest Garden Project, made possible in part by the Lincoln Center Cultural Innovation Fund, which is generously supported by The Rockefeller Foundation and administered by Lincoln Center.
