Spinning & Felting Workshop Demonstration
September 16, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Free
Come felt with us! Learn what it takes to go from sheep to clothing. Make beads and charms to take home with you. This workshop focuses on the process of cloth-making from raw fleece and roving (cleaned, carded fleece) to yarn and felted fabrics. There will be demonstrations on spinning techniques using both a drop spindle and a spinning wheel. There will be hands-on crafts where people can learn how to water felt different styles of beads, and will take home their own felted charms. We will discuss the methods used throughout the history of cloth-making.
Free demonstration. $5 materials fee to make your own. Can reserve materials with pre-purchase or pay day of workshop.
