Life on the Farm: Legacies of Dutch Colonial Brooklyn – Teacher Professional Learning

April 27, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Join the Center for Brooklyn History and Wyckoff House Museum for a virtual professional learning event for educators. Together, we will use unique archival material to tell stories of colonial family life, slavery, and power, and the lasting legacies of colonial Brooklynites; the ones who our streets are named after and the ones whose stories are rarely told. Educators will come away from the event with resources to create lesson plans and utilize primary source materials to bring the nuances of colonial history into the classroom and to supplement curriculum around local history. Educators will also gain awareness of local cultural institutions that can support their students’ discovery of Brooklyn’s past.

This event is eligible for 1.5 CTLE credits.

RSVP on Eventbrite.
