Harvest Sweet Potatoes at the Urban Farm

Fun for all ages! Do you know how sweet potatoes get to the table? Join us on the farm as we dig this season’s crop of purple and orange sweet potatoes. Our urban farm is small and we have planted a limited amount of sweet potatoes. Arrive at 12pm to make sure you and your family get a chance to dig up some of the autumnal bounty.

Harvesting sweet potatoes is magical! If you have not dug sweet potatoes before you will surely enjoy it. Digging for potatoes does not require previous gardening experience. The ground is uneven in places, we will do our best to ensure everyone is able to access the garden beds to dig.

Please note that this activity does require digging in the soil. We have enough gardening gloves and tools for everyone but also consider wearing a pair of shoes you dont mind getting a little dirty.

The Sweet Potato harvest happens entirely outside. The Wyckoff House Museum is currently closed to the public.
