Climate Stories-Climate Solutions

Climate Stories-Climate Solutions, an event led by led by 2024 New York Sea Grant Community Flood Fellow Rona Taylor, in collaboration with FloodNet, the Science and Resilience Institute at Jamaica Bay, and Central x Southeast Brooklyn CDC, invites the community to share and listen to stories about flooding, leveraging those stories to promote community mental wellness as part of solutions for better flood planning, mitigation, and recovery. Riva Nyril Précil will offer a guided arts-based grounding to open a safe space for attendees to delve into their personal experiences of multiple and recurring climate disasters in NYC.
Participants will learn about flood risk in the Brooklyn area, exchange flood resources, and connect with NYC residents who have lived through various flood events.
