Park Stewardship: Autumnal Daffodil Bulb Planting in Fidler-Wyckoff Park

October 16, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join us in the garden where we will be planting Daffodil Bulbs!

Every fall season we plant daffodil bulbs around the park. Cold winter weather activates forces within daffodil bulbs resulting in beautiful Springtime blooms.

Join us as we plant hundreds of bulbs ahead of a bright 2022!

We will provide all required tools and daffodil bulbs. No gardening experience is necessary. Drop by any time between 11am and 2pm to lend a hand. Our staff will be available to provide assistance and guidance to volunteers of all ages.

Getting your hands in the soil can be dirty work please wear clothing that you do not mind getting dirty. For safety please wear closed to shoes. Water from the outdoor hose is available for hand washing.

See you in the garden!

More about the Daffodil Project: Launched by NYC Parks and NY4P in the wake of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001, the Daffodil Project is a living memorial to the victims of 9/11 and the largest volunteer effort in NYC. We’ve been a key partner since the first planting, distributing nearly 700,000 free daffodil bulbs to thousands of volunteers to plant across our city, symbolizing rebirth and bringing hope when the flowers bloom each spring. Learn more here.
