School and Group Visits

School and Other Youth Groups

Bring your class to one of our popular onsite field trip programs at the Wyckoff House and Farm. Programs focus on our unique student-centered and hands-on approach to learning. Students learn about the history of the site through inquiry and exploration.

  • On-site Museum Field Trips are offered Tuesday-Friday at 10:00, 10:45 and 11:30 a.m.
  • Programs are 90 minutes long with up to two classes per available time slot, max of 30 students each, intended for students grades K-5.
  • We offer limited amount of school-based traveling and virtual programs for schools unable to travel to us.
  • Rates range from $100 to $250 per a group of up to 30 students

Popular Lesson Options

Colonial Life

Learn how a family of 13 lived in a single-room house through storytelling, inquiry, artifact investigation, images, and hands-on activities.

Biodiversity in the City

Students will use observation skills and the five senses to learn about the bounty of life on our farm in this interactive lesson.

Creative Composting

We will dig in and learn about the process of decomposition, play the compost sorting game, and explore our worm bin.

Group Tours for Adults

Explore the architecture, history, and culture of New York’s oldest house on a guided group tour. These tours are for adult groups with at least 10 people, generally last around one hour, and can be tailored to meet the interests and needs of your group.

  • Standard tour, $12/ person
  • Seniors and groups with special needs, $10/ person
  • Add on a hands-on activity +$4-6/ person

Adult Groups with Special Needs

Guided tours for groups with special needs include discussion and sensory experiences that accommodate diverse learning needs.

  • The grounds are wheelchair accessible and the museum is partially wheelchair accessible. Our staff can help visitors with a portable ramp to the upper level.
  • Our standard tours require extended periods of standing; If your group needs chairs, please let us know ahead of time. 
  • Please let us know your group’s specific needs when booking so we can best accommodate your group.

University & College Groups

Discussion based tours of the Wyckoff House can be specifically designed to complement and reinforce professors’ class curricula. Tours can be adapted to accommodate the interests and focus of the individual class.

How to Book Your Youth Group Visit

Complete the online reservation request
Create a free profile to form to browse tour options and available dates on  Explorable Places

Wait to hear back from our staff. 
Once we have received your reservation request, we will review it and contact you to finalize the date(s) and time(s) of your reservation.

Receive a confirmation and invoice.
We will send you a confirmation e-mail and a digital invoice for the full school program fee.

Pay your invoice to secure your visit. 
Full payment of your program fee is due four weeks in advance of your scheduled trip date.
